Intro to Acting for Film/TV: Teens

AGES 13-18 yrs

This class for young adults will focus on script analysis and breakdown, creation of character and finding the arc in the scene and the story, audition technique and etiquette and the biz of the business. Work will be on camera and students will be required to bring their own SD card.

About the Instructor

Jill Teed

Jill Teed is a versatile actress whose career spans 30 years. She has appeared in numerous studio release and independent feature films, television series, MOW’s and theatre. Most recently she wrapped a guest starring role on Hallmark’s The Christmas Train then began shooting a recurring role on Siren which will air in the Spring of 2018. Jill embodied the title role in the demanding one woman show entitled Miss Margarita’s Way, a personal and professional milestone.

Ms Teed began teaching 8 years ago and had been coaching and mentoring for many years prior. Teaching gigs include Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts (Scene Study and Audition Technique), West Vancouver District (Acting for Film and Television), Making Connections (Co- teaching with Jennifer Copping) and guest teacher at Van Arts. As well, Jill has created Mountain Arts Academy which provides instruction to novice - advanced thespians on the Vancouver’s North Shore.

Teaching and coaching has become a passion for Jill. Her approach is to provide her students with the tools and techniques to break down a script, while exploring the truth of the story and the character, always challenging her students to make exciting and dynamic choices in the room.
